Guy Kawasaki: Blogging and social media are forms of evangelism.

Guy Kawasaki: Blogging and social media are forms of evangelism. The goal of a lot of online marketing is to get bloggers and networks talking about a product.

The best way to do this remains creating a great product. Ninety percent of evangelism is finding or creating a great product. It’s very hard to evangelize crap.

I totally agree. You need a solid product or service to really be able to create belivable marketing initiatives. If you sell crap the world will soon know about it.

That does not mean though that a “lower quality” or “less expensive” product cannot be marketed. It’s all about expectations - and honesty about what people get. When people visit a dollar store they do not expect the best products in the world, but are still willing to go there … and tell their friends about the deals they got.

If ISP’s would talk to each other …

Filed under: business, marketing, technology, Internet — roar @ 3:22 am

If ISP’s would talk to each other before they blacklist a domain I would not have lost a stack of e-mails over the last few days.

In my case, my website/domain host www.1and1.com blocked one of SHAW’s own domains - the one (shawcable.net) most people use on their home computer to send and receive e-mails.

I think I’m still waiting for any “shaw-mail” to reach me.
Not sure how long it will take to fix, but Shaw is working on getting un-blocked.
If they only could have talked BEFORE the block was implemented!?!
